Is Windows Vista supposed to keep spyware off of your computer?

WhizKid asked:
I heard that this was a main purpose for it since with XP, you can get all this spyware/adware on your computer. So with Vista, do you not need to worry about removing it or does it mean that it reduces it a lot? I am asking since Dell has some extremely low price deals on XP computers since after June you will not be able to register XP.

BULLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
you can always register XP microsoft has no plans to stop it from registering, it will always be able to register.
they are just stopping producting of the CD’s.
so if you want xp get a copy now.
as for vista, yes it comes with built in spyware protection
but its so weak i wouldn’t use it for anything but buttering some toast, get a real spyware cleaner, Like Spyware Doctor and a Anti-Virus like NOD32

Windows in general will tend to get more spyware than other OS simply cause the mojority of computers around the world run it (around 93% the last statistic). With that said, a windows machine, XP or Vista, will have more security vulnerabilities when browsing the internet. In my opinion, XP is more stable than Vista and anti-spyware programs are more compatible with that system since its been around for so long. Micorsoft is trying to clear out XP, which will not happen as long as Vista has so many downfalls.
The amount of spyware/adware really doesnt depend that heavily on what version of windows you have; both will be subject to the same amount. However, on XP, you havemore stability and compatibilty with software. I say stay with XP; its more stable and more promising currently.
