Very weird problem with my computer or my monitor?

February 15th, 2010

PS Gamer Pro asked:

My operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Build 7100
My video card is an XFX geforce 8500gt 512mb
My monitor is an ASUS 1080p monitor

My problem is, my computer monitor randomly goes black and doesn’t show any light or sound and in a couple of seconds (3-10), its back to normal and i found no pattern of when it will happen, this only started happening late night (10:30-11pm) november 13th
Is this my monitor’s fault, is it my computer’s fault, is it both? and how do I fix it?
my monitor is an ASUS VH222H

    Make Solar Panels

i doubt that it’s the monitor.

it would point mainly to the drivers of your graphics card. try getting an update for them, make sure you also have the Ntune program, and download the correct version for your operating system (windows 7 64bit) which should sort the problem out.

    Caffeinated Content

it can happen if ur video card doesn’t support windows 7
and don’t worry it has nothing to do with Friday the 13th cuz thats wen it happened
or maybe u should download a free download
go to and download it so u can view ur video card or what is ur problem

but before doing that just check if ur monitor is plugged in properly to ur computer or the wall outlet
