I need a good spyware/adware cleaner, but I use Avast, so it has to work well with that. I’ver heard Adaware and Spybot are good, but are they the best?

This one worked for me when the others didnt.

I like Superantispyware over Adaware and Spybot S&D.
SuperAntispyware
Also, you may want to look at installing a spyware blocking program at the front end. SpywareBlaster is free and inoculates. It’s not a spyware removal tool.

I use Avast and recommend it to others, I also recommend the following:
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:.
Download, install, update and select Full Scan.
Remove all infections that it finds after scan.
Spyware Doctor Free Basic Edition – Realtime monitoring:
Its free with Google pack, untick all boxes except Spyware Doctor. Download install, update and run.
A-Squared Free:
This is not a limited version but a full tool to clean your computer from Malware, Spyware, Trojans, Backdoors, Worms, Dialers and Keyloggers.
How to use:
Download, install and it will ask to check for updates, which should be allowed and will take a few minutes initially, it will then restart the program for updates to take effect. Click on Scan and ensure deep Scan is selected then click the Scan button.
Comodo BO Clean:
Simply download and install, follow instructions on screen.
Go here to see what it protects you against:
Spybot S&D:
Download, install, update and Immunize, turn off Tea Timer then click ‘Check for problems’ then when complete select all and then ‘Fix Checked’
Open Spybot, click on Mode, select Advanced, click on Tools then Resident and untick Resident ‘Tea Timer’
Do NOT untick Resident ‘SD Helper’ as that is your protection.
AdAware 2008 is ok but slow and heavier on resources. I find the above selection works as a good combination with Avast and I import viruses and malware on a second machine to check removal programs, so this stuff has to be able to do what it claims. It works for me.

AdAware and Spybot are pretty good for free spyware removers. The problem is you get what you pay for, the programs have proven they cannot detect the latest most dangerous threats. I use Avast along with the #1 choice from the following website:

There are so many good spyware/adware removal software tools out there it can be hard to decide. Here is a spyware and adware review website that may help:
