How do I make Medieval: Total War work?

I bought Medieval: Total War about 2 or 3 years ago and i still can’t play the campaign. The battles work, but everytime i want to play the campaign, after i select my faction and everything else and click play, at the load screen, it simply exits the game. I downloaded a patch for it and that didn’t make it work either. If anyone knows what could be wrong and how can i make it work i would appreciate it.

I had this same problem, I think it’s because your computer is TOO good. Strange I know, I moved it from our good desktop to my laptop (which is not as good, I know.) And the game works fine except for a little lag here and there. I don’t really know what the problem is, but this problem does seem fairly common.
